<br>BetDEX is being led by Nigel Eccles, who co-founded fantasy [sports betting](https://social.midnightdreamsreborns.com/read-blog/13246_sweepstakes-casino-controversy-and-celebrities-039-all-important-role.html) site FanDuel in 2009 in Edinburgh.<br>

<br>The brand-new company has seed of $21m.<br>

<br>It intends to launch a [brand-new](http://www.mizmiz.de/read-blog/83306_things-you-need-to-learn-about-rafting-adventures.html) open source software platform, on which others can [innovate](http://video.firstkick.live/read-blog/4640_the-ins-and-outs-of-betting-on-the-nfl-draft.html) in [sports betting](https://droidt99.com/read-blog/6927_for-sports-gambling-to-be-legalised.html), in the first half of next year.<br>

<br>He told BBC Scotland: "We took a great deal of lessons from that, one of which was the importance of who we select as financiers in this new organization, to ensure their values are lined up with ours, that they take their fiduciary tasks responsibly, which they're the right partners for us."<br>

<br>As chairman of the new firm, Mr Eccles stated it could look familiar to retail punters used to existing online firms.<br>

<br>'Pool of skill'<br>

<br>However, he states that those who utilize its platform to run their own wagering firms will be able to innovate and produce a larger variety of wagering products.<br>

<br>He stated the common share taken by online bookies is 7% to 10% of a stake, but BetDEX needs to enable that to fall listed below 1%.<br>
